At SUNNYBOD™, we care about your experience with our products and want to make sure you're getting the most out of your SUNNYBOD™ Sunscreen Brush.
Our sunscreen applicators are specially designed to make it easy for you to transport and apply smaller amounts of sunscreen that you can decant from a larger bulk sunscreen bottle.
It's important to note that they are not designed for the long term storage of sunscreen. Removing any sunscreen from its original packaging may affect its efficacy over a given period of time.
We always want to make sure you're using the most effective product possible, so be sure to regularly empty your applicator and give it a thorough cleaning.

Yes! Our brush works best with cream and lotion based sunscreens, and we've tested it with many different types of sunscreens to ensure its functionality.
That said, we haven't been able to test every sunscreen out there, so please keep in mind that very thick sunscreens may not be suitable for use with our applicator, or may not pump easily from the brush.
If you happen to come across a sunscreen that doesn't seem to work well with our brush, please let us know!

We want you to get the most out of your SUNNYBOD™ Refillable Sunscreen Brush, which means giving it some TLC!
It's important to clean your brush thoroughly on a regular basis to ensure it works as effectively as possible. We recommend weekly with a makeup brush cleanser for best results. You can also use a mild dish detergent if your brush head is especially greasy. Be sure to use a product that disinfects. Be careful of cleansers that have a high alcohol content or contain harsh solvents, as they can loosen the glue that holds the brush hair head together, eventually affecting the life of the brush. For hygiene reasons we recommend cleaning the brush head hair head after every use and replacing within 30 days.
It's important to note that your Sunscreen Brush is designed for the immediate transport and application of sunscreen within a short period of time, not for long-term storage of sunscreen. Removing any sunscreen from its original packaging may affect its efficacy over a given period. Please ensure you discard any old sunscreen regularly and clean out all parts of your SUNNYBOD™ Sunscreen Brush as follows:

Cleaning the Brush Body
- Remove the lid and outer shell by unscrewing the brush head from the base.
- Remove the inner canister by pushing the pump button.
- Unscrew the inner canister to remove the lid.
- Using makeup brush cleanser or mild detergent and the provided cleaning brush, thoroughly scrub and clean all parts of the applicator to remove all residue.
- An antibacterial makeup brush cleanser is great to remove residue from the brush and brush head bristles, and is recommended. You can also use a mild dish detergent if your brush is especially greasy. Be gentle with the brush head hair to avoid it shedding or breakage. See ‘Cleaning the Brush Hair Head’ below.
- Rinse off all brush cleaner or detergent. Repeat steps 1 to 6 until the applicator is thoroughly clean.
- Leave your SUNNYBOD™ Sunscreen Brush to dry completely before using it again. The outer canister can be polished with a soft cloth if desired.
Cleaning the Brush hair Head
- Put some antibacterial cleanser in your silicone makeup brush cleaning bowl, or follow the instructions of your chosen brush cleanser.
- Wet the tip of your brush hair with tepid water.
- Gently swirl the brush onto on the raised surface of your cleansing bowl to create a lather. This will help to push out old sunscreen and rinse off your brush. Be gentle with the brush head hair to avoid it shedding or breakage
- Rinse the brush head with tepid water until all of the soap is gone. Repeat steps 1 to 3 if the brush still has greasy residue.
- Shake out the excess water and pat the with a clean paper towel in the direction of the bristles to get out as much moisture as possible.
- Leave your SUNNYBOD™ Sunscreen Brush Head Bristles to dry flat completely before next use.
We recommend you replace your Brush Hair Head monthly for hygiene reasons. Replacement heads can be purchased in addition to your brush through our online store.
Remember that SUNNYBOD™ Refillable Sunscreen Brush's are NOT dishwasher safe, so please don't put them in the dishwasher.

IMPORTANT: The SUNNYBOD™ refillable sunscreen brush is sold as an empty container and we take no responsibility for misuse, reactions or effects from the sunscreen that is used in them. Always follow the guidelines of your sunscreens manufacturer.
Sunscreen is only one component of sun protection. Avoid prolonged sun exposure. Always wear a hat, protective clothing, sunglasses and seek shade when exposed to the sun. Re-apply frequently.
We want to make sure you get the most out of your SUNNYBOD™ Refillable Sunscreen Brush, so we've put together some important guidelines to follow to keep your brush in top condition:
- Before first use, be sure to wash and dry your SUNNYBOD™ Sunscreen Applicator. This will ensure it's clean and ready to use.
- To keep your brush in tip-top condition, make sure to clean it regularly. We recommend weekly with an antibacterial makeup brush cleanser. You can find instructions on how to do this in the "Cleaning your SUNNYBOD™ Sunscreen Brush" section.
- For hygine reason we recommend replacing your Brush Hair Head monthly, in addition to your brush cleaning and care routine.
- It's important to regularly discard any old sunscreen, as our SUNNYBOD™ Sunscreen Brush's are not designed for the long-term storage of sunscreen. Removing any sunscreen from its original packaging may affect its efficacy over a given period of time. If your unsure, always check with your sunscreen manufacturer before decanting any product, for guidance.
- Avoid leaving your SUNNYBOD™ Sunscreen Brush in hot environments or direct sunlight for long periods of time. This can cause the plastic to degrade or become brittle. We have provided a reusable storage pouch to help keep it protected.
- To prevent any damage, don't store your SUNNYBOD™ Sunscreen Brush in an area where it can be easily stood on or dropped. Dropping on a hard surface or standing on the brush may cause the outer canister to crack. We do not replace damaged canister due to misuse.
- Be sure to handle the brush hair head with care when washing or replacing it, as incorrect handling may cause hair shedding or breakage. If you need replacement brush hair heads, they can be purchased separately. If a brush begins to shed its bristles excessively, it may be time to replace it.
- After each use, make sure excess sunscreen is not left on the brush hair head before replacing the lid. This will prevent sunscreen from collecting in the brush cap when not in use. Be sure to place the lid on firmly.

We want you to know what goes into making your SUNNYBOD™ Refillable Sunscreen Brush! We're proud to use high quality and durable materials in our Sunscreen Brush. Most importantly, our brush is 100% recyclable, so its great for you and the planet!
Here's a breakdown of the materials we use:
- The outer bottle and button are made of ABS and PE plastic.
- The inner bottle is made of PP and PE plastic and a stainless steel spring.
- The brush head housing is made from PP plastic.
- The brush head bristles are made from PBT (sometimes referred to as Taklon). PBT is a more durable material than ordinary nylon bristles, and it's also less water absorbent. This means it's less likely to harbour germs.
To keep your brush in top condition, be sure to follow the recommended cleaning and care instructions.

We want your SUNNYBOD™ Refillable Sunscreen Brush to last as long as possible, which is why it’s designed to be durable and easy to care for. The lifespan of the brush head and body depends on how it's used and cared for, so for this reason we don't guarantee its lifespan.
Our brush head bristles are made from PBT, a more durable material than ordinary nylon bristles. To keep your brush head in top condition, we recommend disinfecting after every use and washing it at least once a week using an antibacterial cosmetics brush cleaner.
It's important to avoid leaving your Sunscreen Brush in hot environments or direct sunlight, and always store it in a shaded place when outdoors. We have provided a FREE brush pouch to help you with this.
By following these directions, your Refillable Sunscreen Brush can last for many months to years.
Replacement bristle heads are available to buy separately when required, so you can keep using your SUNNYBOD™ Sunscreen Brush for a long time to come. For hygiene reasons we recommend replacing your Brush Hair Heads every 30 days.

We usually need 1-2 business days to process and pack your order. However, during busy times like sales, new product launches, and holidays like Christmas, it might take us a bit longer. But trust us, it's worth the wait!

We're fortunate to have long, sunny summers here in Australia, but that also means we're exposed to some pretty intense UV radiation. In fact, on an average summer day, the UV index can reach up to a whopping 12-14, and in some parts of the country, it can even hit 16-17!
So, we highly recommend using sunscreen every day, even during the winter months when the UV index can still exceed 3, especially in the northern parts of Australia. Keep your skin protected and healthy!

One question we often get is about the difference between chemical and mineral sunscreen, which used to be known as physical sunscreen. Let's break it down for you.
